It comes with 2 licenses for windows 7. The original one and a refurbished one. So you technically get 2 windowses with it.
Laptop was brand new, no blemishes.
Amazon took the time to reformat the hard drive and didn't bother to install the crapware that these usually come with.
Thus windows was pristine.

Jessica Robicheaux:It's not as light-weight as I expected it to be, but it's as fast as advertised and very comfortable to use. Runs all of my Adobe Cloud programs and launches them in seconds - compared to 2-3 minutes on my old laptop! Would buy again.

Douglas Baxter (Virginia):Initial impressions: I love it, irritated with a few small items, but it is my new favorite travel computer.
The packaging was great. Three layers of protection: Amazon box with plastic air, Samsung box with foam corners inside, and then a very hard, elegant notebook box with foam inside.
Since I've only had it a few days, I'll keep the review short for now:

Good things:

++ The matte screen is gorgeous. I'm sitting in the kitchen next to an open window with the sunlight pouring in, and it looks just fine. Really good, in fact. My mother-in-law is sitting beside me with an Asus that has a reflective screen. Ouch! The glare from her notebook smacked me in the face. The screen on the Sammy is awesome.
++ Super skinny and light. This is replacing my daily notebook, a lightweight (3.94 lbs) Asus that I thought was very portable. Hah! The Sammy blows it away.
++ Elegant and refined look and feel.

Jennifer Johnson :LOVE the form of this laptop - sleek and lightweight! I like the back lighting of the keyboard. I wish that the volume controls and screen brightness were not controlled by the Fn keys requiring 2 hands to control, though.

As others have mentioned, there ARE issues with the wireless adapter and touchpad. If you believe your Windows based laptop should run perfectly out of the box - stay away from this laptop. I knew going into this purchase that there were problems and decided to gamble on my being able to address them. I am reasonably comfortable doing this, but not a techie. With the help of the Samsung support, I have reinstalled/updated the drivers for the wireless adapter (x3) and touchpad. The adapter appears to be OK now, the touchpad continues to annoy, refusing to work when the computer is restored from "sleep" mode. Because the reboot is so fast, this is only annoying not unworkable. Also, the default power settings required adjustment and often revert back to default - not sure why.

G. Trimble (San Diego, CA United States) :I researched all the latest lightweight laptops to replace an aging Acer 12" Netbook. Needed something to travel with and use around the house. Wanted a 6+hour battery, 3 lbs or less and 13" screen. This 13" ultrabook is almost 1/2 lb lighter at 2.5 lbs than my older netbook and weighs the same as my wife's Ipad with keyboard. The screen is very bright and sharp. Computer is quiet and sleek looking, Macbook Air imitation. Battery is good for 6-8 hours. Computer boots up in seconds with the 128GB SSD. Wish it had a 256 GB SSD but 128GB will do the job and is a lot more than the Ipad offers. I did not like the Windows 8 interface so installed a simple app that replicated Windows 7 menu on startup. This computer should last me for another 5+ years.

In regards to the other review, I don't think it's fair to give a 2 star review for something that wasn't carefully bought. Anyway, good product, just make sure your laptop model is listed.

Shelby:This product does not fit the Samsung Series 5. It doesn't snap onto the laptop. I have ordered 2 different ones now to see if it was just on e defective one, but they are all the same. I have returned both now.

John Ferguson :This fits nicely on my chromebook and protects it from scratches. I like the stand-up legs for when I'm typing at a desk, or the like. Otherwise, you hardly know it's there. doesn't get in the way of opening or closing. I like the clear one because it will allow for a decal skin to go on and still be visible.

Eric Wang :Better than nothing. Unfortunately, no other company/brand provides a similar hard shell case for my laptop model.
The bottom part keeps snapping off whenever my notebook is closed. Because it's a touchscreen, the screen portion is heavier on account of the Gorilla glass, so the top portion keeps swinging backwards when it's touched and the case isn't providing any stability at all.

The Penguin "Techno Geek" (California, Dude):This is my first hard shell case. The Samsung Chromebook felt kind of fragile, so I ordered the iPearl mCover to protect it from my 3 year old. It was easy to install and snapped on in just a few minutes with no tools. It comes with 2 pieces. One for the lid and one for the bottom. The lid cover fits nice and tight, but the bottom cover feels a bit loose. Not loose enough to fall off though. Just a bit creaky around the 2 front corners. It also adds a bit of thickness to the Chromebook and a slight amount of weight. It has 2 fold out legs that I probably won't use. I ordered the clear case, because I want to show off my Samsung Chromebook logo on the lid. The black cover wasn't transparent and the other colors seemed too bright. I would have preferred a more conservative transparent smoke color or olive green instead of the bright green one. But hey, the clear cover does the job just fine.

George:This is an excellent laptop for the price. Fast and very lightweight. We got this to take on vacation for early mornings and late night in the hotel. The only slight disappointment is of course Windows 8 and the changes from Windows 7. But we got used to it in a few hours. We had previously bought Samsung TV's and they are excellent so we bet on their PC being excellent also and it is.

S. Dinnocenti (Valley Forge, PA):I love this computer. Starts right up. The set up was quick and easy. Nice and light. I was concerned about the Windows 8 but with the desktop icon you can go to the old desktop with a click of a tile. The weather tile is so awesome. So is the email tile and all the others. If you can use a SmartPhone, you will feel right at home with the Windows 8. Browsing is quick and easy and it is really fast. LOVE IT.

 Skilz:I could not find anyone who had a hard shell case for Samsung Chromebook, but iPearl did. Just the way I wanted: clear, light, fitted, and hard shell. Both top and bottom parts fit well. I love the retractable rear feet that keep my Chromebook cool and make it easy to type on desk top. Now, I have to get one for my MacBook Air :)

Carol P :Although this review is based on the black cover for the 11.6" Samsung Chromebook - there are a total of nine colors of this product available. All are exactly the same except for the color. iPearl makes a variety of custom covers for tablets and laptops.

QODVU / RATINGS

QUALITY / 8: Remember, this IS plastic. However, it appears well made. The matte finish on the black cover does show fingerprints where it was touched - unless your fingers are super-squeaky clean. I think they might show less on the clear cover. For other offered colors, this might be a concern.

OPERATION & FUNCTION / 8: Once attached, the cover does not interfere with opening or closing the Chromebook. Since the cover functions to protect the Chromebook - I would have to give the function aspect a lower rating from what the company seems to imply on Amazon. It will protect it from scratches - my main concern, but don't expect it to protect it much if you drop your Samsung. It is not thick or padded enough to prevent the shock of a drop or damage. The company states it will protect your Chromebook and that the covers are shatterproof. If you read through it too fast, you will think it will protect it from major bumps or even a drop. The company seems to say it will protect the corners and it might protect it some from slight bumps while carrying it.

Kate Bennett :I cannot say enough positive things about this case...not only does it fit like a second skin and provides excellent protection against scratches as well as minor drops, but it has built-in little "feet" that unfold and fits very ergonomically on a laptop "lap pad" (as well as on a desktop, but I use mine primarily on my lap). It makes my second-hand Chromebook look like brand-new...

Earl W. Wagner (Houston, Tx):I do not have any problem with the keyboard or the trackpad like other reviewers claimed. There is a side swipe in windows 8 that got annoying but then I just turned it off. I was worried that this only being an i5 processor that running photoshop, aptana, WAMP, eclipse, and many chrome tabs would slow it down. Well, I was wrong. It kept up pretty well with everything that I was doing. If I had a bad experience at one point, it at least wasn't bad enough to stick in my head.
